You can create a hair style with a flower headband to make a TWA look more cute. I got this headband on eBay. Since my big chop it has been difficult to deal with the perception of beauty that forms us and our views in society. The media really influences our views in mainstream media natural Afro hair is not represented. Even when it is represented it focuses on the curly textures you never see products marketed towards 4c hair. This is why it's important to me to represent 4c naturals in a positive light on a online platforms though YouTube and blogging. I believe that we haven't moved forward until we no longer need special platforms for black beauty when we are included in mainstream media. When u can go in a shop and just pick up a magazine and see a multi cultural outlook including everyone. There should be no need for black magazines and that is a future to move towards. A mainstream media that includes black beauty.

7 months post relaxer 4c hair
its getting harder to take care of at 7 months post im thinking of doing a big chop on 21st feb 2015. that's when i will be 11 months post! im so excited to be nearly natural im not ready to cut now becaus its so short i want to cut when i have enough hair to atleast put into a maller puff.
i told my mum i was going naturall showed her my new growth and she said "your hair is so corse like your dad's hair never will grow you hair needs a texturizer!" she said.
and i was shocked that she felt i needed to have a chemical in my hair because it is "4c natural hair" .
what are your thoughts?
It's getting harder to style

my transitioning managing hair so far 1 month post
so far i have a 1inch of new growth and I'm 1 month post i have inch due to the inversion method. so far i'm experiencing breakage. i wasn't expecting this so soon into my transition and also i've stretched my relaxers for 3 months before without breakage so this shouldn't be happening after a month. so right now as i type I'm giving my hair a protein conditioner because my hair felt to soft and i think i have over moisturised it with the change of products. i've gone from one extreme to another the whole reason i change my products was because i was suffering from protein overload and now i have the opposite. balancing protein and moisture is hard.
at the moment i have been researching everywhere how to manage new growth and the line of demarcation when transitioning. i've found many helpful methods.
today I'm documenting what worked for me i'll upload photos later.
so i pre poo for 4 hours with a plastic cap with lots of oil the oil i used was castor oils and almond oil this really helped to soften the corse hair and allow me to detangle.
detangling i sectioned my hair into 4 and sectioned those into 2 each so i had 8 and i detangled with a wide tooth comb from tip to root when the comb got stuck i stopped and detangled with my fingers then went though with the comb after. then braided the sections to keep detangled in 4 sections.
shampooing i used a watered down sulcate free shampoo and used a applicator bottle to apply to scalp and massaged in to let it lather up. then i rinsed out shampoo with braids in i only shampooed once.
then i took down each braid and saturated it with the protein conditioner root to tips and placed in a shower cap over night.
then in morning washed out and applied moisturising conditioner and sat under dryer for 30 mins and rinse out.

the end of a relaxed journey and the start of a new one
this is how my relaxed journey started in 2010, with broken of relaxed hair i had stared relaxing at age 12 but at age 16 -17 it got to its worst point and all broke off as you can see in the photo below.
then desperately i searched everywhere for how to grow my hair back and found sites like hairlista that helped me to learn about hair care deep conditioning, stretching relaxers i fell in love with oils and retaining length. from the pictures below you can see the result of this practice.
there was no doubt my hair was growing longer using these technics and i was kinda happy with the result but expected more growth in the time span of 3- 4 years. my hair is longer but it still breaks and is thin no matter what i try or how well i take care of it.
photo of may relaxed texture close up shoot
last year at the youtube event i met peeks from the mo am network i has always followed her natural journey and seeing her hair in person made me love her hair even more. i was kind of inspired but was a bit scared of starting all over as you can see from the photos it took me so long to grow it to shoulder length i didn't just want to go natural just like that and take another 4 years. so i forgot about that idea and put it in the back of my mind.
now my hair today always doing braid out and twist outs try to create the natural look because i was to scared to start over again but now im brave enough to go natural. i've always said that one day i'd go natural and that day came quicker than i thought it would happen. So follow me on my journey.

The day of my last relaxer
Taken on my iPhone to document The last day of my relaxer. I've been relaxed since age 12 and at 21 this is my last relaxer .i've always wanted to grow long hair and embarked on a relaxed hair journey I started off at short broken off A length hair doing my relaxed hair journey and managed to grow its a long shoulder length hair. This is the longest my hair has ever been in my life. I Learned so much on my relaxed hair journey However the ends are very stringy and doesn't look so healthy. So I've decided to start a new journey and natural one. I always New I would do this one day that never thought I would do it very soon. So follow me on my journey.
